Starting my social entrepreneurship journey in 1998 as Proprietor & incorporated in the year 2006 as private limited company “SMAAT INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED” to providing safe drinking water solutions to rural communities across the country. Smaat manufactures, installs and maintains eco-friendly, user-friendly, cost-effective water treatment plants using non-chemical technologies, which in turn generates employment to large numbers.
Smaat has earned a reputation of pioneering the cause, and offering services and technology led solutions evidenced by National and International awards which include 3 awards from MSME, Government of India namely “Outstanding Entrepreneurship”, “MSME Award for Research and Development” for two years 2009-10 and 2013-14.
Smaat is the first India ISO: 9001:2008 & ISO : 14001 : 2004, SSI, DGS&D, NSIC empaneled, NSF & CE Certified, CRISIL and CARE rated company to have introduced Eco- Friendly, user friendly, non- chemical technologies to the global market with 2.5 million satisfied customers around 33 countries, with more than 16000 water, waste treatment and purification plants across India and the globe, processing 14000 million litres of water per day.
Smaat also has the distinction of being the only company in the forefront to help the needy at times of calamities and natural disasters, for instance; Smaat stood first in line by providing drinking water for the flood-hit public in Jammu & Kashmir as well as the victims of Hudhud during 2014 and Kerala floods -2018. The initiative is widely appreciated by the Chief Ministers of Jammu & Kashmir, Andhra pradesh, Kerala and various ministries of Government of India
Apart from installing thousands of Environmentally safe water and fluid conditioning systems covering varied applications, we also offer integrated solutions through turnkey services including Design and Optimization, Customization, Business procurement and Production management, Pilot testing, Fabrication and Installations. Backed by strong Operational and Financial capabilities, in-house research, and its continuous endeavor towards developing innovative technology, Smaat has expanded and diversified as a specialized solution provider with manufacturing and extensive Research & Development for: end-to-end Water and Air purification solutions, Solar Energy solutions, Sewage treatment plants, Municipal solid waste management plants, Mobile flood relief plants, Sea Water De-salination plants, Pre-filtration systems, Packaging systems and Environment education and awareness.
Smaat’s outstanding performance and commitment in Research and innovation has been widely recognized and awarded by the Central and State Government of India. Today, we are providing pure water to 1crore 50 lakhs people in 16,500 villages, with just 10 paise to 25 paise per liter. My commitment and discipline has made me grow to this position from an ordinary man born in a normal farmer’s family from a village.
The same commitment gave me an opportunity to export my products to 33 countries. We were able to provide services to people and families of the highest level. The best example is, our products were used in Saudi Arabia king’s ‘Fahad Palace’. By seeing just one order copy and appreciation letter, all others from Gulf have blindly bought my products. In the countries Uganda’ and ‘Tunisia’ we were able to supply our products for their presidential buildings. Due to my commitment and discipline I got an opportunity to work in India’s president office.
